MISSION OF THE MONTH
Keynote, the creative arts ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ Denise DiSarro

Mission's Goals: Campus Crusade for Christ’s vision is to see spiritual movements everywhere so that everyone knows someone who truly follows Jesus. As part of this ministry, Keynote uses the powerful tools of music, comedy, short film, and other creative arts to communicate God’s love and hope.

Praise: My team oversees Keynote’s annual Summer Project, when we train college students and give them opportunities to share their faith in the context of their art and day-to-day life. During the 2009 project, 39 students in six bands travel 23,259 miles in 19 days to perform 81 concerts. 8302 people heard the gospel and 812 indicated decisions for Christ!

In September, my team used a short film made by our 2008 Summer Project students for an outreach. We led an evening of short films and discussion on a local campus, complete with a gospel presentation. One Christian student wrote this on a comment card: “Really great films, had a chance to discuss with a nonbeliever I’ve really been praying for.”

Prayer Requests: Please pray for the preparations for the 2010 Summer Project. Pray for the project directors, who decide this month which students will be accepted. Pray for the students who are accepted as they begin to raise support for their summer expenses, that God will use this process to expand their faith in Him.

Pray that the groundwork we are laying for a short film production team will result in effective ministry.

Brazil training - Keynote helped Janiê Sucupira launch a music ministry for Campus Crusade for Christ in her native Brazil in 2005. She has been joined by three new staff members, and I am going with a teammate to Rio de Janeiro from March 20 to 29 to train them. Pray for our preparation administratively and spiritually; pray for health and safe travel; pray that we will encourage Janiê and her team and equip them for ministry.

Please continue to pray for the finances for Denise’s ministry with Campus Crusade for Christ, and that gifts of support will be sufficient to sustain her ministry.

URGENT: Earthquake Devastates Haiti, Anglicans Mobilize for Relief

Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, was struck by a magnitude 7.0 earthquake on Tuesday, January 11. The quake was centered southwest of Port-au-Prince, a city of about 2 million inhabitants. Aftershocks have sparked fear and panic. Reports indicate that most buildings – including hospitals, relief agencies and churches – have collapsed or are unsafe. There is extensive loss of life, and unimaginable injury.

The Anglican Relief and Development Fund (ARDF) is working with our partners to respond with assistance to the victims.

"Having led several medical missions to Haiti in the 1970s and 80s, I am particularly concerned for our response to those good and suffering people in our hemisphere’s poorest country. We Anglican Christians need to respond to the devastation both with our prayers and resources," said Archbishop Robert Duncan.

You can help Haiti now. Please give generously to the Anglican Relief and Development Fund: www.anglicanaid.net or checks may be sent to:
