Food Budget Tight?
Perhaps Serve New England Can help
Serve New England is a program designed to promote volunteer service by offering deep discounts on the highest quality grocery, meat, and vegetable items to community-minded individuals willing to volunteer 2 hours of their time each month to a worthy cause.  We have over 350 chapter sites located throughout the six New England states.
Serve has no eligibility requirements other than the 2 hours of volunteer service.  Our program is open to people of all ages, races, and income levels.
If you already help at your church, school, youth sports, senior center, etc. then you already qualify.  If you are helping someone other than a family member with yard work, meals, babysitting, or transportation, etc., then you already qualify.  Serve will also be happy to assist you in finding a volunteer project that interests you as well as training if necessary
You may order items through the website http://www.servenewengland.org, at the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center or at one of the chapter sites found on line.   Contact Julie Greene if you have questions.

If you would prefer, there is also, www.AngelFoodMinistries.com   The pickup site is Seaport Community Church in Groton

Families need your help with food.  Please try to donate kid friendly [open and eat type] food.  All of the area food lockers need food. Please donate to one today! Donations for Groton Social Service can be left in the box in the Narthex.  Children who normally eat at school will be hungry this summer. Parents, many who are working, cannot afford to feed their children.  Thank You
